What is sensory play?
Sensory play is any activity that stimulates any of your child’s senses. These senses include sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, movement, and body position.
What are the benefits of sensory play?
There are many benefits to sensory play, but these are some examples. Sensory play supports language development, fine and gross motor skills, and problem-solving. It can calm an anxious child, and it can also increase your child’s food acceptance.
What are your sensory bin containers made out of?
Sammy’s Sensory bins are made from cardboard.
How do I store the sensory items?
These items can be placed back into their original bags or stored in the bin.
At what age can my child start playing in sensory bins?
We suggest starting at the age of 3 years old for our sensory bins.
How can I encourage my child to play in a sensory bin?
For some kids this may take time. Bring the bin out daily and show your little one how they can play in it, and slowly ease them into touching the base materials.
Are sensory bins messy?
They can be, but there is a beauty in the mess your kids make with these because so much more is going on.
Can I reuse materials in a sensory bin?
Yes! As long as you package them in either a plastic bag or the original packaging they should last for a few months.
